This is Ian Cusack, aged 6 from Ballybrown Clarina Co.
Limerick.
Ian sustained serious head injuries in an accident in September 2008.
Ian’s road to recovery has been long and difficult, he has had many life threatening surgeries, and has contracted many infections which meant that most of this beautiful boy’s existence for the past ten months has been marred by great suffering and pain.
He has come this far due to his unending courage and determination and the unconditional love and support of his Parents, brother and extended family. Ian is revered by those who have had the privilege of knowing and loving this vivacious, charismatic and beautiful character.
Ian spent several months in Cork University Hospital and is now in the National Rehabilitation Centre in Dun Laoghaire. He has made some progress but still has a long way to go, his future rehabilitation and care will involve overseas treatment in the near future.
Ian’s accident not only devastated his family bur our whole community. As a gesture of our huge support and solidarity for Ian, his parents John and Oorla and his brother Jack, we have setup “IAN’s Trust”. You are invited to make a voluntary and anonymous contribution to this fund to ensure that Ian gets the care, equipment and opportunities that he deserves so much.
